You cannot say anymore that it is politics as usual – Republicans castigating the Democrats and vice-versa. Everybody says bad things about the other guy/gal, and the other team replying... Liar, Liar, Liar!
Most recently, Republicans have been spreading videos of President Biden stumbling, wandering, mumbling. Who know what he just said? They have also pointed out the scripted questions and the prepared answers on note cards. The Democrats have responded by saying the videos have been altered and edited, designed to make Biden look bad; and that behind closed doors, the President is “vigorous, sharp as a tack, a workaholic, and runs circles around his staff.”
However, after the Presidential debate, Biden’s defenders can’t say that anymore. Although Joe’s wife, Dr. Jill, thought he did great, she was about the only one. Putting it kindly, Biden’s performance was abysmal. Democratic strategists and the liberal news media uniformly thought it was catastrophic in terms of his re-election campaign. Biden’s performance was so bad that even the highly regarded, liberal New York Times Editorial Board took note of Biden’s obvious cognitive decline, and immediately proclaimed that Biden should “step aside for the good of the country.” This type of reaction was not confined to the United States. This shouldn’t be so shocking. Back in early February, Special Consul Robert Hur foresaw all this when he declined to criminally prosecute President Biden due to his “diminished faculties.” We ourselves echoed our concern in our February 12 article: Acting President Kamala Harris?
It’s very important to note that CNN, the NY Times and Democratic strategists want poor old Joe to withdraw from the 2024 Presidential race, but they also want him to remain as President until the end of his term. That’s not good enough. We agree with independent Presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. when he said, “This is a job that requires a lot of complexity, a lot of nuance, a lot of very, very difficult decisions".
Unfortunately, President Biden no longer has the mental capacity to make these nuanced, difficult decisions. Anybody who watched the debate saw plainly enough that President Biden does not have the mental faculties to remain as President of the United States. If he can’t speak cogently or intelligently in a 90-minute debate, how in the world can he negotiate with Putin of Russia or Xi of China?
The New York Times only has it half right. Yes, the President should immediately withdraw from the 2024 Presidential race; but for the good of our county, he should also immediately resign as President, and let Vice-President Kamala Harris succeed him. She’s not very popular, and many disapprove of her performance as Vice-President. However, she was elected by the American people, and she certainly Is more mentally fit and has more cognitive ability than our mentally impaired President, Joe Biden.
