Beginning of the US Constitution: “We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
First Amendment to the United Stats Constitution: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”
The Biden Administration seems to have a very narrow view of the freedom of speech and the freedom of the press. In May 2021, President Biden’s Press Secretary Jennifer Psaki called big tech censorship a “health and safety issue.” She proclaimed that social media companies should do more in fighting misinformation, calling it “life threatening, and she urged them to “stop amplifying untrustworthy content.” In July of 2021, President Biden doubled down, claiming that social media companies are "killing people" by allowing coronavirus misinformation to spread. He modified his statement a little later saying that platforms such as Facebook are merely “accessories to homicide.”
Really? Well, if the Biden Administration was so concerned about censoring “misinformation,” perhaps they should have started with President Biden himself. When it comes to spreading misinformation, the President, his Administration, and his supporters in the media, are in a class by themselves. Here is just a smattering of their big misses.
Vaccinations will prevent Covid infection.
July 21.2021: At an Ohio town hall meeting hosted by CNN’s Don Lemon, President Biden claims: “You're not going to get COVID if you have these vaccinations. If you’re vaccinated, you’re not going to be hospitalized, you’re not going to be in an ICU unit, and you are not going to die… Look, the only pandemic we have is among the unvaccinated and they're killing people,"
OOPS! April 2022, the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) data show that about 6 in 10 adults dying of COVID-19 were vaccinated or boosted. July 21, 2022: White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre announces that “President Biden tested positive for COVID. He is fully vaccinated and twice boosted.”
Wearing Masks protects against Covid infection:
April, 2020: After initially claiming face coverings weren’t necessary, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention CDC changed course, calling on all Americans — even children as young as 2 years old — to mask up. September, 2020 CDC Director Dr. Robert Redfield said that "face masks are the most important powerful health tool we have," even suggesting that they might offer more protection than vaccines.
OOPS! March 2023, Cochrane Library Review publishes the findings of 78 randomized controlled trials (RCTs), led by 12 researchers from esteemed universities around the world. RCTs are considered to be the gold standard in testing. Among their findings: Wearing masks in the community probably makes little or no difference to the outcome of influenza‐like illness (ILI)/COVID‐19 like illness compared to not wearing masks. In fact, wearing surgical masks “makes little or no difference” compared to not wearing a mask.
The Coronavirus originated from a lab in Wuhan, China.
February, 2020. Washing Post headline: “Tom Cotton keeps repeating a coronavirus conspiracy theory that was already debunked.” May 2021: New York Times’ Science and Health reporter Apoorva Mandavilli calls any mention of the lab theory “racist.” September 2021 LA Times: “mounting evidence that the virus reached humans through natural pathways — from infected animals such as bats.”
OOPS! March 2023. FBI Director Wray states that the agency “for quite some time now, has assessed that the origins of the pandemic are most likely a potential lab incident in Wuhan…Let me step back for a second, the FBI has folks, agents, professionals, analysts, virologists, microbiologists, etc. who focus specifically on the dangers of biological threats, which include things like novel viruses like COVID and the concerns that, in the wrong hands, some bad guys, a hostile nation-state, a terrorist, a criminal, the threats that those could pose. So, here, you’re talking about a potential leak from a Chinese government-controlled lab that killed millions of Americans, and that’s precisely what that capability was designed for. I should add that our work related to this continues, and there are not a whole lot of details I can share that aren’t classified.
We highlight these examples of misinformation coming from the President and his cade of experts, not because they were in so many important instances so wrong, but because the censorship that they favored, encouraged, and even participated in, caused, in so many cases, severe harm to the American people. To name just a few, numerous studies show that the social isolation policies encouraged by Drs. Fauci and Birx caused a huge increase in the number of children requiring treatment for serious mental health problems. The United Nations calls the isolation that occurred in educational systems a “global generational catastrophe, and children have lost up to two years of formal learning, with the poor and the marginalized getting hurt the most. According to Forbes Business Magazine, in just 14 months from the start of the pandemic, a whopping 34% of small businesses had closed down. And how many parents and grandparents suffered through their last moments on earth isolated and alone?
This did not have to happen! There was a serious, alternative policy advocated by many eminent scientists. As early as October of 2020, Drs. Martin Kulldorff of Harvard, Sunetra Gupta of Oxford and Jay Bhattacharya of Stanford published the Great Barrington Declaration, which was signed by thousands of scientists. “As infectious disease epidemiologists and public health scientists we have grave concerns about the damaging physical and mental health impacts of the prevailing COVID-19 policies, and we recommend an approach we call Focused Protection. Current lockdown policies are producing devastating effects on short and long-term public health.
The results (to name a few) include lower childhood vaccination rates, worsening cardiovascular disease outcomes, fewer cancer screenings and deteriorating mental health – leading to greater excess mortality in years to come, with the working class and younger members of society carrying the heaviest burden. Keeping students out of school is a grave injustice.”
The reaction from the entrenched and powerful medical bureaucracy was swift. According to the Wall Street Journal, Dr. Francis Collins, Director of the National Institute of Health, sent an email to Dr. Fauci on 10/8/20, saying: “this proposal from three fringe epidemiologists seems to be getting a lot of attention – and even a co-signature from Nobel Prize winner Mike Leavitt of Stanford. There needs to be a quick and devastating published takedown of its premises. Is it underway?” Fauci replied that it was. A week later Collins spoke to the Washington Post, declaring “this is a fringe component of epidemiology. This is not mainstream science. It’s dangerous.” Unfortunately, this strategy worked. Both Facebook and Twitter censored mentions of the Great Barrington Declaration and its authors.
Not long ago, Dr. Fauci arrogantly stated that “Republicans who criticize him are really criticizing science, because I represent science.” Quite the opposite is true. Science is not settled and is constantly evolving as new observations and facts come to light. Things change! When Dr. Fauci and his cohorts acted to suppress alternative scientific and policy views, he denied the public a full and open debate over mask efficacy, vaccine side effects, COVID origins and other important issues. Instead, the powerful medical bureaucracy and their political leaders were sure they were right; they forged ahead and ignored the obvious and negative consequences of their policies. They never suffered for their arrogance, but the public sure did!
