In the words of Nicole Shanahan, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s running mate: “I really wanted a fair shot at this election, and I believed in the America that I, as a little girl, pledged an allegiance to."
“The DNC made it impossible for us...they have banned us, shadow-banned us; kept us off stages; manipulated polls; used lawfare against us; sued us in every possible State. They've even planted insiders into our campaign to disrupt it, and to create actual legal issues for us. I mean the extent by which the sabotage they've unleashed upon us is mind-blowing. I mean - we're still learning new ways that they have sabotaged us!
In the words of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., "In the name of saving democracy, the Democratic Party set itself to destroying it," Kennedy said. "They did it by weaponizing the government agencies. They did it by abandoning democracy. They did it by suing the opposition and by disenfranchising American voters.”
“Each time that our volunteers turned in those towering boxes of signatures needed to get on the ballot, the DNC dragged us into court, state after state, attempting to erase their work and to subvert the will of the voters who had signed those petitions. It deployed DNC-aligned judges to throw me and other candidates off the ballot. It ran sham a primary that was rigged to prevent any serious challenge to President Biden.”
In the words of Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of META, formerly known as Facebook: “In 2021, senior officials from the Biden Administration, including the White House, repeatedly pressured our teams for months to censor certain COVID-19 content, including humor and satire, and expressed a lot of frustration with our teams when we didn’t agree….I believe the government pressure was wrong, and I regret that we were not more outspoken about it. I also think we made some choices that, with the benefit of hindsight and new information, we wouldn’t make today.”
What do these three people have in common? They were all traditional liberal Democrats who felt the full power of the Democratic Party used against them for the purpose of gaining and maintaining Democratic political power.
As bad or undesirable as that may seem, it is far worse than that. The Democratic Party has also used its political power to intimidate and punish people that disagreed with them, and by taking away their Constitutional rights.
Tulsi Gabbard is another traditional liberal Democrat who served as the Representative for Hawaii's 2nd congressional district from 2013 to 2021. While a member of Congress, she served as Vice Chair of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) from 2013 to 2016, and resigned to endorse Bernie Sanders' campaign for the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination.
Before she was elected to Congress, she served in a field medical unit of the Hawaii Army National Guard; and unlike Democratic Vice-President nominee Tim Walz, she deployed to Iraq from 2004 to 2005 and was stationed in Kuwait from 2008 to 2009 as an Army Military Police platoon leader.
Given her history of leadership and service to the United States, you have to ask – why was she placed on the Quiet Skies list and subjected to enhanced surveillance? Why are her and her husband’s boarding passes marked with the “SSSS” designation, which stands for Secondary Security Screening Selection.” Why have they have been forced into “extensive random searches” lasting as long as 45 minutes?
In the words of Tulsi Gabbard, “It happened every time I boarded…and it is clearly an act of political retaliation…It’s no accident that I was placed on the Quiet Skies list the day after I did a prime-time interview warning the American people about … why Kamala Harris would be bad for our country if elected as President and Commander in Chief".
“What hurts me the most is the fact that like so many Americans I enlisted because of the terrorist attack on 9/11, deployed to war zones to go after those terrorists, still serve in the US Army for over 21 years, and now my government is surveilling me as a potential domestic terrorist,” Gabbard said. “The real pain this has caused is the stress of forever looking over my shoulder, wondering if and how I am being watched, what secret terror watch list I’m on, and having no transparency or due process.”
We wish we could say that this is an isolated instance of political intimidation. In March 2023, the IRS visited the home of the traditional liberal Democrat and journalist, Matt Taibbi, on the very same day he testified before the House Judiciary Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government. Coincidence, or was it a continuation of the prior, illegal actions of the Internal Revenue Service?
Not that long ago, in October 2017, the IRS entered into a consent decree in which it admitted that it wrongly used “heightened scrutiny and inordinate delays and demanded unnecessary information as it reviewed applications for tax-exempt status from the Tea Party and other conservative groups. In the court order, the IRS expressed “its sincere apology,” and it made a substantial financial settlement. The big question is whether these past and present egregious abuses will happen in the future. We believe it will, if Kamela Harris is elected President. Why?
In the words of Kamela Harris in a 2019 CNN interview, “unregulated free speech has to stop, and that there is a danger to the country when people are allowed to directly speak to millions and millions of people without any level of oversight and regulation.”
On the contrary, we believe the great risk to Democracy occurs when the executive branch of any political party uses its power to limit anyone’s ability to speak to millions of people. The great danger occurs when the government uses its power to censor and intimidate anyone or any group who disagrees with them. President Biden has famously said that in this residential election “Democracy is on the ballot,” and he has harshly criticized former President Trump and the MAGA movement as “a danger to democracy;” yet President Biden and Vice President Harris have shown themselves to be equally dangerous by their own words and actions..
In the words of another traditional liberal Democrat, law professor and Constitutional expert, Jonathan Turley: “A Harris-Walz administration would be a nightmare for free speech…For over three years, the Biden-Harris administration has sustained an unrelenting attack on the freedom of speech, from supporting a massive censorship system (described by a federal court as an “Orwellian Ministry of Truth“) to funding blacklisting operations targeting groups and individuals with opposing views.”
Of course, it is possible that Kamela has now changed her mind (flip-flopped?). After all, in the past she has either voted for or supported these policies: banning fracking, supporting illegal immigration, criticizing Trump’s border wall, urging government run health care and endorsing an electric vehicle mandate.
Now, in the month following her nomination for the Presidency, she has suddenly reversed her stance on all these important issues. Has she also changed her mind on government censorship and intimidation?
We don’t believe it, and neither should the American people!
